YouTube what did I do without you?


Two tube pieces of video blingage. The first something new and the second an old favourite (so old I think this clip came out when Alf was considered to be a viable concept for a sitcom).

Revolutionary Road


The second film of The Titanic Trilogy, Revolutionary Road reunites Leonardo DiCaprio, Kate Winslet and Kathy Bates as souls who hit a metaphorical rather than actual iceberg this time around. Well acted, but depressing, it does little for the home abortion industry. I'd give this film three and a half stars solely for not allowing Celine Dion to return to sing the theme tune. Watch the trailer here.

Will have to see how the third and final film turns out before I pass judgement. It's rumoured to be a remake of Tim Burton's remake of Planet of the Apes.

Nude from the waste down?


Acceptable levels of adult nudity. It varies from gender to gender. Discuss.

Seussology



Other than worshiping Mexican cuisine and Barack Obama a man should really try and find something to believe in. Scientology want too much money, and the probing is unwarranted, Richard Gere ruined Buddhism (and gerbils), the Secret is shitret, Jedi cloaks don't suit summer in Australia and while Big Love makes Mormonism appealing, who'd want to live in Utah?

That is until of course I discovered Seussology. Rhyme with the great doctor and you too can have all of your dreams come true. His words are wise, and the green eggs and ham are always fresh. Here are some of his more famous quotes, I mean commandments.

The Bibliothèque Nationale de France has a gallery of illustrations by Villemard (you'll notice he has a thing for levers and pulleys) from the year 1910 (what a crazy, hot time that was) imagining what life would be like in the year 2000. I'm a little puzzled as to why they predicted that fashion wouldn't change, but run with it.

And for those of you who don’t speak 1910, I’ve translated Villemard’s pictures above into words.

For over a week now President Obama has been ruling us with his magical cyborg controlling voice. One of these now obedient cyborgs spent six hours of his/her/it's (I'm never sure if we're giving them genders these days which makes for awkward cyborg speed-dating sessions) life combining hundreds of photos to create a zoomable look at that moment in history. A moment I hope the cyborg's don't erase when they eventually rebel and go in search of gender re-alignment. Zoom to your hearts content here.

What this blog will be, nobody knows.
